Job Description
Legal Assistant/Paralegal
Our busy boutique law office needs a reliable, well-organized, technologically savvy administrative legal assistant to aid with legal and clerical tasks. This is a 20-hour-a-week job. This part-time job offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience.
The aid we are seeking includes:- Handle client communication, gather information, and assemble intake packets.
- Manage complex calendars.
- Track case developments, organize files, and prepare essential documents.
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive environment that fosters learning and growth.
- Assist with any computer-related issues.
- Assist with preparing legal documents and filing documents with the court electronically and hard copies.
- Review documents to determine information important to supporting the claims of the case.
- Clerical tasks including scanning, faxing, printing envelopes/sending mail, scheduling calls and appointments, answering phone calls, coordinating travel arrangements and calendaring.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in document management software and uploading/exporting document production (preferred).
- Proficient with computers and common software, such as Word, Excel, Google Docs and Adobe.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organized while managing priorities with little oversight.
- Attention to detail and ability to proofread all work.
- Ability to present a positive, professional image with colleagues, professional staff, clients and vendors.
