34 hours per week during non-election years, 40+ hours per week during election years A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Board of Elections. Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan. A list of eligible applicants will be established based on the examination as outlined below. Current and future vacancies occurring in any Office or Department of Baltimore County General Government may be filled from the list of eligible applicants.

Under general supervision, performs comprehensive clerical work in support of a County program or agency.
- Assists in the hiring of election judges and schedule their training.
- Assists in proofreading processed batches of registration.
- Prioritizes data processing tasks to assure timely completion in accordance with office policies and procedures.
- Responsible for voter registrations applications.
- Assists with special projects including – mass mailings, petitions, redistricting, verifications, voter education, canvass election, packing judge supplies and surveys.
- Maintains and secures files daily.
- Assists with the preparation and the conduct of elections to meet all deadlines to include but not limited to: processing voter registration, provisional ballots, record retention, reports, certificates and other information in accordance with Local, State and Federal laws.
- Operates office machinery, photocopiers, fax machines, and calculators.
- Updates and maintains filing systems, lists, log books and rosters.
- Answers routine inquiries from the public, or directs inquiries to proper agency.
- Collects and compiles technical data and prepares summary statistics.
- Performs occasional light typing or word processing.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Possession of a high school diploma or an appropriate high school equivalency plus one year's general clerical experience. (Additional experience as described in the essential duties may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education. Additional education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.) Preferred Qualifications Experience working in an elections office. Proof of Education, License and Certification Applicants are required to submit proof of driver's license and education beyond high school to meet the qualifications of the position.
