Recruitment Responsibilities
- Screens and refers qualified applicants to the hiring manager for interviewing.
- Provides constant communication, feedback, and follow‑up with management and HR on recruitment status.
- Ensures recruitment reports are current, updating the business weekly on recruitment progress.
- Develops sourcing methodologies across a variety of markets and geographies.
- Utilizes a variety of sourcing techniques to identify qualified candidates, including Internet‑based sourcing, social networking sites, job fairs, community networking, employee referral programs, web postings, database searches, direct competitor recruitment, technical schools, military, direct mailings, etc.
- Builds and maintains professional relationships with university and college placement offices to generate qualified applicants.
- Effectively manages requisitions and updates all candidate statuses in the applicant tracking system.
- Analyzes turnover metrics and exit interviews to understand attrition reasons and works with management to address potential areas of opportunity.
- Under the direction of the Regional Director of Human Resources and the HR Manager, develops or modifies job descriptions per contract specifications.
- Creates and implements marketing strategies and tools within budgetary constraints to generate name recognition within the communities served, including print advertisements, brochures, and flyers for job fairs and career days.
- Collaborates with vendors on pricing and ensures appropriate documentation is processed for compliance.
- Assists with instruction and training of hiring programs, procedures, and processes to new users.
- Conducts new‑hire orientations as needed.
- Meets time‑to‑fill recruitment metric requirements for exempt level positions and presents information effectively to management and candidates.
- Oversees repairs, preventive maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of the fleet.
- Supports heavy overhauls, light unit rebuilds, electronic and body repairs.
- Orders parts and maintains inventory.
- Supervises maintenance personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, promotion, discipline, and terminations.
- Monitors technician performance and initiates appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with company policy.
- Ensures all mechanics possess the proper licenses and certifications.
- Supervises and inspects major repairs and provides technical assistance to mechanics.
- Directs the work of all technicians, developing work orders and evaluating all repairs performed by technicians and outside vendors.
- Monitors radio communications during route times and ensures operator inquiries related to mechanical operations are responded to immediately.
- Advises the General Manager of situations requiring further attention.
- Handles vehicle titles and registration, including Vehicle Change Notices and annual registration fees.
- Maintains DOT compliance and inspections of revenue and service equipment.
- Ensures the efficient operation of the maintenance facility.
- BS/BS preferred; at least 5 years of related experience.
- At least 3+ years of experience providing recruitment support in multi‑geographic territories, supporting multiple managers with both non‑exempt and exempt level positions.
- 2+ years of experience in a high‑volume, challenging staffing environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong recruitment skills utilizing Internet‑based sourcing techniques; prior experience with a Web‑based applicant tracking system.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, specifically FMLA, ADA, Title VII, etc.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; exceptional customer service and follow‑up skills.
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain professionalism.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet budgeted staffing metrics.
- Team player and able to collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external customers.
- Must pass a pre‑employment physical examination, including a drug test.
