We are hiring for a Senior Construction Manager to support our government customer based in Laurel, MD. This position is required to be onsite.


** This position will require an active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Full Scope Polygraph**.

V2X seeks a results‑driven individual with a Senior Construction Manager who conducts construction inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and building codes and generates reports. The role reviews shop drawings and submittals, provides the COTR with a recommendation for approval or disapproval, and notifies the Government in writing of non‑compliant safety hazards and recommended corrective actions. The Construction Manager verifies completion of corrections, attends project meetings, and manages project design and/or construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day‑to‑day project oversight.

The manager evaluates construction contractor performance, integrates and coordinates projects with field personnel, evaluates change requests, and delivers official weekly status reports. The manager assists the client’s Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative (COTR) with acquisition planning, execution, and administration, pre‑bid and pre‑construction site visits, and invoice supporting information. Additionally, the manager prepares and monitors project schedules and budgets, provides technical guidance, directs design efforts, recommends construction documents for approval, and oversees follow‑on maintenance programs.

The manager optimizes performance, cost, and schedule to meet project objectives while ensuring integration of all systems, including IT, telephone, security, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing, and prepares a Contractor Performance Report (CPR) upon contract closeout.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct construction inspections to ensure conformance to design specifications and building codes and generate reports.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals and provide the COTR with a recommendation for approval or disapproval.
  • Notify the Government in writing of non‑compliant safety hazards and recommended corrective actions.
  • Verify completion of corrections and actions identified.
  • Attend project meetings.
  • Participate in Sponsor‑unique Permit Training and serve as Permit Authorizing Individual.
  • Manage project design and/or construction efforts, including schedule, funding, and day‑to‑day project oversight.
  • Manage and evaluate construction contractor performance.
  • Integrate and coordinate projects with field personnel.
  • Evaluate, validate, and manage project change requests.
  • Provide official weekly project status reports.
  • Prepare and distribute project communication with customers, management, integrated project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Assist the client’s Contracting Officer (CO) and COTR with acquisition planning, execution, and administration.
  • Assist the CO and COTR with conducting pre‑bid and pre‑construction site visits.
  • Provide invoice supporting information to the COTR for payment.
  • Prepare and monitor project schedules and budgets; provide technical guidance on contracting and construction‑related issues; direct design efforts; recommend construction documents for approval; and oversee any follow‑on maintenance programs.
