Kinsley is currently seeking multiple personnel for our growing civil site and pipe crews based in North East, MD. Positions include site foreman, pipe foreman, pipelayers, equipment operators, and laborers. These roles focus on underground utility projects, including water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer installations, in locations around the North East, MD area. Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.

Typical responsibilities/essential functions include:

Site Foreman
  • Effectively lead, manage, and motivate crews of 5 to 10 individuals.
  • Successfully manage and schedule subcontractors.
  • Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
  • Responsible for the production process.
  • Plan and schedule for necessary manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete the job.
  • Responsible for completing daily timesheets and maintaining daily logs.
Pipe Foreman
  • Effectively lead, manage, and motivate crews of 5 to 10 individuals.
  • Supervise the installation of new pipes in trench for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.
  • Successfully manage and schedule subcontractors.
  • Interpret blueprints, project plans, and specifications.
  • Plan and schedule for necessary manpower, tools, materials, and equipment needed to complete the job.
  • Responsible for completing daily timesheets and maintaining daily logs.
Pipelayer
  • Install new pipes for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains in prepared trenches.
  • Ensure pipes are aligned properly and positioned on grade and on line.
  • Assist with back filling and operate compaction equipment as needed.
  • Recognize and mitigate job site hazards.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed to support the crew.
Equipment Operator
  • Operates equipment in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensures company equipment is maintained and in good running condition by greasing and checking fluids.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of all aspects of construction.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
Laborer
  • Assist in back filling and running compaction equipment.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
  • Use various hand and power tools.
  • Assist with removal of fine grade stones along curb lines and sidewalks.
  • Take and understand instructions from crew leaders.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements include:

  • Minimum of 5 years of field leadership experience is required for foremen position.
  • Must possess knowledge of GPS systems.
  • Ability to follow and enforce all correct safety procedures.
  • Applicants should possess knowledge of underground utility installation, excavation regulations, and pipeline safety.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience is required for the equipment operator position.
  • Ability to work in a crew-based and fast-paced environment.
  • Punctuality and dependability are required.
  • Perform a variety of manual tasks for extended periods and sometimes in unfavorable weather conditions.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs and moving whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
