Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
Work Setting:
Primarily in-office with occasional jobsite visits
Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 base salary, plus performance bonus potential
About the OpportunityA growing specialty construction contractor in the Owings Mills area is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support active commercial construction projects throughout the Mid‑Atlantic region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their construction career who wants to learn directly from experienced project leaders, gain exposure to field operations, and develop into a future Project Manager.
The company specializes in design‑build commercial construction projects involving stairs, railing systems, structural steel, architectural metals, and exterior improvement projects. They are seeking an organized, coachable, and accountable professional who is eager to learn and grow within a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities- Support Project Managers with day‑to‑day project coordination and administrative activities
- Assist with scheduling, project tracking, documentation, and client communication
- Coordinate with internal teams, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Track change orders, project updates, site notes, and outstanding action items
- Maintain project status updates within the company's project management systems
- Review and organize drawings, submittals, reports, and project documentation
- Support quality control efforts, site inspections, and project closeout activities
- Visit jobsites as needed to gain familiarity with project scope, field conditions, and progress
- Help keep projects moving through strong organization, responsiveness, and attention to detail
- 1+ years of construction, project coordination, project engineering, or related experience preferred
- Ability to read architectural, engineering, or construction drawings
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Experience with Procore is highly preferred
- Exposure to AutoCAD, Inventor, Advance Steel, or similar software is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and professional demeanor
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments
- Demonstrated accountability, reliability, and willingness to learn
This is more than an administrative support role. The successful candidate will gain exposure to scheduling, client communication, change orders, drawing coordination, field operations, and overall project execution.
