Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Major Gifts Officer (ATMTC)
Location: Laurel

Adventure Theatre MTC (ATMTC) educates and inspires new generations of theater artists and audiences with exceptional theatrical experiences. Led by Executive Director Leon Seemann, Artistic Director Chil Kong, and Education Director Margo Brenner Collins, ATMTC has grown from a community-based company into a nationally renowned Academy and professional theater for young audiences.

ATMTC is the result of a 2012 merger between two well-respected community organizations:
Adventure Theatre and the Musical Theater Center. Adventure Theatre was founded in 1951 and is the longest-running theatre for children and families in the Mid‑Atlantic region. The Musical Theater Center began in 1984 as a performing student ensemble and over the years it became known for high‑quality musical theater training. In a non‑pandemic year, between its professional theatre productions, Academy classes, summer camps, in‑school programming, and community outreach, ATMTC serves approximately 40,000 individuals.

ABOUT

THE POSITION

ATMTC is looking for an outgoing, energetic, self‑starter who has the ability and interest to fulfill the role of our Part‑Time Major Gifts Officer. The majority of the work will be in initiating, building, and deepening relationships with current and prospective donors to Adventure Theatre to build overall individual giving through major gifts ($1,000 and above). Candidates should have a strong ability to connect with people, committed to ensuring every child has access to theatrical experiences, and can communicate the value in supporting all children.

General work hours are flexible and include evening and weekend work with donors and supporters, with an expectation of no more than 20 hours per week. Participation in 2 to 3 weekly meetings (about an hour each) is a core part of the job.

This position will primarily be evaluated on two key performance indicators:
