Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Street

The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ), under its Collaborative Media Engagement for Development, Inclusivity and Accountability (CMEDIA) project, invites journalists across Nigeria to apply for its training on 'Designing and Delivering Collaborative Investigations:
From Strategy to Impact.'

Collaborative investigative journalism is key to reporting complex issues that require shared expertise, pooled resources, and coordinated newsroom effort. It also demands intentional design, from planning and coordination to delivery and impact. However, journalists still face structural barriers such as limited data access, resource constraints, and weak collaboration systems that affect the depth and reach of their work.

This training will strengthen journalists' capacity to move from individual reporting to structured collaboration. It will provide practical skills in designing joint investigations, managing data sharing and verification, and applying security protocols in collaborative reporting.

It will also focus on delivering and amplifying collaborative investigations for public impact. Participants will explore ways to sustain partnerships, engage stakeholders after publication, and apply the Report Until Something Happen (RUSH) model to strengthen accountability outcomes.

The training will hold on Wednesday, 20 May 2026, bringing together journalists from across Nigeria committed to advancing collaborative investigative reporting.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants Must

  • Work in local or sub-national media (radio, TV, print, or digital)
  • Have an interest in investigative and public-interest reporting
  • Be willing to collaborate across newsrooms
  • Be available on the training date
