Position: Assistant Dock Master (Seasonal)

Are you a customer-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced marina environment? We are seeking an Assistant Dockmaster to support daily operations and help deliver an exceptional boater experience. This is a hands‑on, customer-facing role that plays a key part in upholding our marina’s outstanding reputation.

What You’ll Do
  • Serve as a daily leader and guide for the Dock Staff—supporting tasks, answering questions, and ensuring smooth operations.
  • Work closely with the Dockmaster as their first line of communication and assist with administrative responsibilities.
  • Greet customers, take phone calls, answer questions, and ensure every boater receives a first‑class experience.
  • Manage transient boater reservations and provide accurate information on marina services and Hinckley offerings.
  • Assist with daily marina tasks including dock walks, trash removal, facility inspections, and vessel tie‑ups.
  • Oversee safe fuel handling procedures, fuel sales, and daily reconciliation.
  • Conduct routine property walks with the Dockmaster to identify and address issues.
  • Help schedule staff and coordinate daily task rotations.
  • Participate in regular meetings with the Dockmaster to share ideas for improving guest experiences.
  • Prepare for high-volume weekends to ensure seamless operations.
  • Work both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
Work Schedule

March 15th – November 15th every year
Weekend and holiday work during the busy season
Days off during the week
Frequent after‑hours availability during peak periods

Requirements
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Experience handling money and performing basic cash reconciliations preferred
  • VHF radio experience a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Strong organization and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment
