About the Role
Join our dynamic team as a Test Technician 1, Instruments, where you will play a pivotal role in instrument assembly, system testing, and performance optimization. This hands-on position is ideal for experienced professionals passionate about troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and driving product excellence. As a subject matter expert, you will provide critical support in analyzing test results, optimizing system performance, and mentoring team members.
This is a contract opportunity with exposure to advanced manufacturing processes and cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Build, integrate, and assemble instruments following detailed processes and standards
- Conduct functional and release testing on moderately complex instruments
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, or software issues on non-functioning test equipment
- Analyze test results/data to determine pass/fail status and provide actionable solutions
- Optimize system performance, including precision movement and light systems
- Identify defects, recommend design/process improvements, and escalate issues as needed
- Read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and workmanship standards
- Train and mentor associates on mechanical and testing tasks
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams
- Ensure all activities comply with regulatory requirements and company Safety/Quality expectations
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; ability to support multiple production orders
- Basic proficiency with PCs and Windows environment
- Fluent in English (reading, writing, analysis, arithmetic)
Preferred Skills
- Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (GMP compliance)
- Previous involvement in cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Planning)
- Advanced troubleshooting in instrument test equipment
