Architectural Designer

STV is an international multidisciplinary engineering/architectural consulting and construction management company performing over $300 million in revenue annually. STV’s Buildings Division includes engineering and architectural assignments within the Federal, Educational, Institutional, Justice, and Environmental market sectors. We are seeking an Architectural Designer for our Owings Mills, MD and Washington DC offices.

• Prepare documents for new construction and renovation projects.
• Assist with architectural design work from concept design through construction documentation for projects requiring interface and collaboration.
• Prepare architectural drawings and utilize strong knowledge of building technology; supervise their execution for all project phases.
• Execute code analysis, material selections, and coordinate with specifications writer.
• Conduct site and construction inspections for information‑gathering purposes, and prepare design reports.
• Plan, schedule, coordinate, manage and assist lower‑level architects on projects.
• Develop design details, plans, and specifications.
• Contribute new designs or techniques that are materially significant in solving important problems.
• Perform independent investigations, studies, and architectural analysis.
• Determine the technical approach and design criteria for projects in collaboration with project management.
• Ensure conformance with standards, established architectural practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.

• Professional degree in Architecture and 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with BIM 360 / Revit and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with AutoCAD, Enscape, Rhino 3D, Grasshopper, Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
• Excellent design capabilities and strong verbal and visual communication skills.
• Progress toward architectural licensure is very desirable.
