Landscape Designer/Estimator

The Client is a family-owned and professionally operated full-service landscape maintenance and design/build company with locations in Mt. Airy, Damascus, Baltimore, and Union Bridge. We have over 25 years of experience providing quality landscaping services for both residential and commercial properties from start to finish. We are currently seeking an experienced and professional Landscape Designer/Estimator to join our team. The position is responsible for creating smart landscape solutions tailored to each client's needs, including compiling the list of materials required to build the landscape design plans and costing the job.

The Designer is an integral member of the team serving as salesperson, estimator, designer, and partner with the Production and Operations staff. The Designer is responsible for the customer experience from consultation through design and plant/material selection to project closing. To succeed in this role, the candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills focused on building trust; excellent sales and communication skills;

and the creativity to develop inventive high-end residential and commercial landscape designs. Applicants should demonstrate a range of experience in commercial and residential projects, with excellent management and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities
  • Develop meaningful relationships with clients in order to design and sell landscape services
  • Accurately assess and estimate the scope of the project based on the client's goals, budget, and aesthetic, and the property's setting through discussion and site visits
  • Create innovative design recommendations, including appropriate plant options and hardscape materials
  • Coordinate with the Production staff to ensure successful project completion
  • Timely and thoughtful connections with clients regarding job satisfaction, maintenance options, and future opportunities
  • Proactively establish new contacts, leads, and business opportunities
Qualifications
  • Minimum of two (2) years of successful experience in a similar role, designing, estimating, and selling residential and commercial landscape installation and maintenance services
  • Degree in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, or other similar study preferred
  • Knowledge and abilities to use computer applications and other digital tools; landscape design software experience required; CAD and OST Software skills preferred
  • Dynamic and motivated self-starter who has experience generating leads, qualifying prospects, and meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • Extensive knowledge of landscape materials, horticultural techniques
  • Exemplary customer service, sales, and communication skills
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and ability to be insured by the company insurance carrier
