Chesapeake College is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Art Instructor to teach introductory courses to non‑majors. Our primary need is for an instructor who is passionate about teaching Art Appreciation (ART 101) as well as Integrated Arts (HUMS) both online and in‑person. The instructor will be responsible for preparing and delivering engaging, innovative, and discipline‑appropriate curriculum that fosters a deep understanding and appreciation for the visual arts.

Your students will explore the elements of art, principles of design, and the historical and cultural contexts in which art is created. In addition, we are looking for someone who is interested in helping us reinvigorate an art culture on campus. This might mean teaching studio art, developing partnerships with local art museums, advising a student art organization, facilitating a student art exhibit, or assisting our Theater program with set design.

We are open to hearing how you envision meeting us where we are but also helping us realize a goal of infusing more of the arts into our community.
