Science Teacher - Long-term Substitute
Reports to:
Division Head - High School Prep
Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000 annually (projected to be 12 weeks of maternity leave, which converts to $12,000 - $15,000)

Position Summary:
Join a team dedicated to every student's success. As a Science Long-Term Substitute Teacher (Grades 5-6), you will play a vital role in supporting students academically. You will be responsible for managing the classroom, monitoring students, and evaluating student performance. You will also be responsible for communicating and partnering with all parties involved in the education of the child, including parents/guardians and colleagues.
This position is from mid-September to December 2026.
Responsibilities:
- Teach two (2) sections of 5thGrade Science (Space and Earth)
- Teach three (3) sections of 6thGrade Science (Space and Earth)
- Prepare and implement lesson plans, provide appropriate learning experiences for all students
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents and faculty to update student progress
- Serve as an advisor in the advisory program, if necessary
- Work closely with the administration through regular meetings
- Use innovative strategies for multi-sensory instruction
- Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned
Required
- Bachelor's degree in education or science
- Current CPR certification
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and technology skills
- Willingness to work collaboratively with administrators, faculty members, and parents
- Embrace the mission and values of Holy Trinity and our connectionto the Episcopal Church
- Commitment to equity and inclusion and have experience working with a diverse student population
- Genuine enthusiasm and personal warmth
- Master's degree in education or science
- MSDE certification
- Experience working in an independent school setting
- 3-4 years of relevant experience in an educational setting
