Position SummaryLa Salle University’s Natural Sciences Department has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach freshmen/sophomore level chemistry courses, including General Chemistry (lab), Chemistry for the Life Sciences (lecture or lab), or Organic Chemistry Lab. These courses are generally offered in person, in the daytime or evenings.

Responsibilities- Teach assigned course(s) including laboratory courses.
- Prepare course materials consistent with departmental learning objectives.
- Provide timely grading and feedback to students.
- Provide guidance and support to students.
- Master’s or PhD degree in a chemistry, biochemistry, or related field. A Master’s or terminal degree in related degree in a field (MD, DO) will also be considered, but must have familiarity with chemistry.
- Maintaining safety and a safety‑conscious environment in the chemistry laboratory for self and students.
- Knowledge and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.
- Experience or desire for teaching chemistry courses, particularly at the college or high school levels.
- Knowledge or experience teaching chemistry laboratory courses.
- The job requires the ability to teach lecture or lab sections of freshman/sophomore level chemistry.
- The job requires movement around the classroom or laboratory, possibly lifting heavy objects, and working with chemicals.
- It may be necessary for the position to teach an evening class.
