Welcome to Caliday Position Summary To assist the Program Director and School Age Teacher in the operations of the before and after care program for school age children; implementing activities to ensure the Caliday mission, vision and values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment.

Essential Functions:

Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies and procedures.

Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents and visitors.

Assists in the maintenance of an attractive and informative Parent Table that is updated regularly.

Implements activities that are age-appropriate and stimulating in accordance with the provided Caliday curriculum; manages effective classroom management.

Assists in the supervision of children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.

Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns in a timely manner, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.

Maintains open and effective communication with the team, parents and school community.

Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment is appropriately maintained.

Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the School Age Teacher and Program Director to resolve.

Maintains yearly certification requirements including Continuing Education Credits.

Education/

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have the energy and passion for working with elementary-aged children and a desire to grow within the childcare field.

The ideal candidate will have CPR and First Aid training certificate and Basic Health and Safety training certificate.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment..
