This is a full-time, on-site position reporting to the Principal. Salary range is $47,000 to $60,000 with excellent benefits. Please forward your resume and letter of interest to: (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).

Responsibilities- Planning:
Create lesson plans that align with the Archdiocese of Washington Academic and Religious Standards. Utilize standardized test scores and other forms of assessment to adjust lesson plans and inform instruction. Plan learner-based lessons that address the diverse needs of all students. - Instruction:
Deliver a balanced program of instruction that includes direct instruction, guided instruction, individual/group practice, questioning, demonstration and discovery. Plan lessons that include lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities. Administer formal and informal assessments to determine if objectives are met and differentiate instruction accordingly. Assign classwork and homework that support the lesson objectives. - Classroom Management:
Establish procedures that optimize instructional time. Create and enforce clear rules to foster a positive, respectful learning environment. Set high expectations for achievement and ensure Catholic values guide interactions. - Communication:
Maintain records of student progress, monitor grades, and communicate with parents and administration. Inform students and parents of assignments, provide rubrics and due dates. Post up-to-date information on the grade book portal. Conduct conferences when academic or behavior interventions are needed. Produce quarterly progress reports and report cards. - Catholic Identity:
Actively foster Catholic beliefs, traditions, and practices. Plan and lead liturgical ceremonies as required and teach religion classes aligned with the Archdiocese of Washington Religion Standards. Encourage prayer in the classroom and participate in liturgical ceremonies as required. - Non-Instructional Duties:
Perform duties such as carpool, recess, lunch, classroom substitutions, sponsor clubs, and attend after-hours events and professional development meetings. Obtain required Maryland, Virginia, or DC certification within three years of hire and acquire any required religious certifications.
- Current teacher certification in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, DC (candidates have 3 years from hire to earn certification).
- Knowledge of child development and supervision.
- Experience teaching in an elementary school setting (preferred).
