Position: Teacher of the Deaf | Berlin, Maryland
Location: Berlin

Step into a vital role supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist for an upcoming leave coverage near Berlin, MD. Your responsibilities will include providing direct specialized instruction and support to students, consulting with teachers and staff, and adapting curriculum materials to make learning accessible. Preferred experience and qualifications:
  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related field
  • Experience as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing teacher or specialist in a K-12 setting
  • Strong understanding of language development and communication modalities, including ASL and/or other communication tools
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, families, and support staff
  • Commitment to individualized support and adapting instruction based on student needs
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
Key responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct instruction and interventions to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Collaborate to develop and implement IEP goals and accommodations
  • Support classroom teachers in the use of communication strategies and accessible materials
  • Advocate for student needs and create an inclusive school environment
  • Monitor student progress and document outcomes
