Position SummaryCalvert County Public Schools is instituting a new system of professional learning tied to the Career Ladder of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. Working in a train‑the‑trainer model, Professional Learning Series Coordinators will collaborate with the principal and central office staff to provide training in the following topics: lead and mentor teams of educators to promote professional learning among colleagues; collaborate with colleagues to improve student performance;
provide training on the science of learning.
Principal
Education, Certification, and Experience- Minimum of a Standard Professional Certificate or Standard Professional License.
- Tenure and satisfactory teaching experience with Calvert County Public Schools.
- Effectively relates to and collaborates with teachers, staff, and central office personnel.
- Leads collaboration among peers.
- Uses data to inform instruction and school improvement.
- Provides effective professional development to teachers.
- Communicates effectively.
- Willing to present, answer questions, and support colleagues through implementation of the professional learning series.
- Seen as a leader in the team, department, and/or school.
- Commits to participate in all training provided by CCPS and deliver such training to colleagues (July 2026 – June 2027).
- Demonstrated success in accomplishing similar responsibilities listed below.
- Attend the Train‑the‑Trainer Workshop, receiving high‑quality professional development on instructional practices and staff development and participate in other necessary trainings.
- Attend designated workshops and planning sessions during summer 2026 to plan for SY 26‑27 staff development.
- Provide training to staff on topics in the system of professional learning tied to the Career Ladder of the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future with the support of school and central office administrators.
- Collaborate with school and central office administrators to plan and implement ongoing, job‑embedded professional learning opportunities.
- Attend meetings during the school year to support implementation of the professional learning series.
Performs related work as required or assigned by the school principal.
Physical DemandsPosition requires significant periods of standing and walking and is performed in a typical school environment.
Unusual DemandsMay be subject to a flexible work schedule.
Terms of EmploymentExtra Pay, Extra Duty position. School Year 206‑2027 – Club Sponsor.
FLSA StatusExempt.
EvaluationPerformance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the policy on evaluation as established by the Calvert County Public Schools.
