Indian Creek School is an independent, co‑ed day school in which 600 students aged 3 to Grade 12 partner with innovative teachers in an outstanding educational program. Located on a beautiful, 114‑acre campus in Crownsville, Maryland (just north of Annapolis), IC students are nurtured and known as individuals while being challenged to discover their passions, purpose, and potential. This is a full‑time 12‑month position with occasional summer responsibilities, reporting to the Director of Admission. The position will begin on July 1, 2026.
Responsibilities- Support the School’s enrollment management efforts by assisting in the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of mission‑appropriate Upper School students. Collaborate on admission, marketing, and outreach initiatives designed to meet enrollment goals.
- Serve as an ambassador for Indian Creek School, articulating the school’s mission, vision, values, and educational philosophy to prospective families, students, and community partners.
- Engage and inform prospective parents and students about Indian Creek and the benefits of an IC education in individualized and group settings through guiding tours, open houses, student visits, and interviews.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with area educational constituencies including feeder schools, consultants, other admission offices, and outside organizations.
- Collaborate on the creation and execution of admission marketing materials, digital communications, social media content, and outreach campaigns that effectively communicate the value of an Indian Creek education.
- Coordinate the efficient handling of applications and communications with parents so that the process supports and honors the student and their family.
- Manage parent and student expectations and deliver admissions decisions in a manner that is honest, caring, and diplomatic.
- Help plan and execute recruitment events including open houses, yield events, and school fairs, both on and off campus, with some evening and weekend requirements.
- Participate actively in admission committee discussions and decisions, evaluating applicants holistically and supporting enrollment decisions that align with the school’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Maintain accurate records in Blackbaud and other enrollment systems; assist in analyzing admission, enrollment, and retention data to support strategic decision‑making and enrollment forecasting.
- Potentially serve as an Academic Advisor for Grades 10‑12.
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of the admission office and the school’s enrollment effort.
The specific requirements of the role will evolve over time with the needs of the school and the strengths of the individual.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior experience in admissions in an independent day or boarding school.
- Strong technology skills, including data management and enrollment systems, preferably Blackbaud.
- Demonstrated ability to use data to inform decisions and strategy.
- Strong understanding of marketing’s role in recruitment and enrollment efforts.
- Experience supporting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion work in an educational setting.
- Understanding of contemporary recruitment techniques, including the use of technology and social media, in the recruitment and enrollment lifecycle.
- Proven track record of successful collaboration and innovation.
- Outstanding judgement and maturity.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent writing and public speaking skills.
- Personal warmth, positive attitude, and a deep commitment to constituents of all backgrounds.
- Must pass Federal, State, and MSDE background checks.
