We are seeking a Teacher Assistant who will provide flexible instructional and classroom support across multiple grade levels. This role ensures continuity of learning by assisting lead teachers, supporting small-group or one-on-one instruction, and helping maintain organized, engaging, and inclusive classrooms.

RequirementsMeets New York State Education Department (NYSED) credentialing requirements for paraprofessionals or assistant teachers.
Demonstrated ability to:
- Communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Adapt to multiple classroom environments and shifting priorities.
- Build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Exercise sound judgment and maintain professionalism.
- Support the mission, vision, and goals of OWNCS.
The Teacher Assistant provides flexible classroom support across multiple grades and subjects to ensure continuity of learning and student success. Working closely with classroom teachers and school leadership, this role supports academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and a positive, inclusive environment.
Primary Responsibilities- Support classrooms across grade levels and subjects as needed.
- Assist lead teachers with lesson implementation and classroom management.
- Provide small-group and one-on-one instructional support.
- Maintain organized, clean, and welcoming classrooms.
- Cover classrooms during teacher absences.
- Supervise students during arrival, dismissal, lunch, and recess.
- Support teachers and school leaders with instructional materials and data collection.
- Participate in professional development and collaborative meetings.
- Promote a school culture of respect, empathy, and teamwork.
$17.50 – $22.00 (based on education, certification, and experience)
Schedule10-month position, paid evenly over 12 months for year-round coverage
