Early Education Lead Guide Job Description
Greenspring Montessori School is seeking an Early Education Lead Guide to work with 18‑month‑to‑3‑year‑old children for the 2026‑27 school year.
Responsibilities- Create a beautiful and inspiring Montessori prepared environment.
- Cultivate a nurturing, respectful, inspiring, empowering, and safe learning environment for the children.
- Provide and support deeply engaging learning experiences in accordance with authentic Montessori philosophy and practice.
- Create a rich culture of grace and courtesy in the classroom.
- Ensure that Montessori methods, classroom environment, and individual student needs are well addressed.
- Plan lessons weekly to ensure each child’s unique needs are met in all curriculum areas, fostering curiosity, wonder, a love of learning, and strong academic skills.
- Keep accurate records, updated weekly, on each student’s development and needs.
- Observe students for at least 15 minutes a day and record these observations.
- Follow the Student Support Protocol for students who present needs.
- Model and teach appropriate conflict resolution and problem‑solving strategies.
- Ensure warm and effective connection between home and school, supporting ongoing communication among families, students, and the teaching team.
- Educate and fully support families in understanding the beauty and importance of Montessori education for the child’s spiritual, academic, emotional, and social development.
- Provide parent‑teacher conferences three times a year to give feedback on students’ intellectual, emotional, and social development.
- Create well‑written, educational, and insightful conference summaries, progress reports, and newsletters.
- Ensure successful transition of students into the next level of programming.
- Understanding of and commitment to Montessori philosophy.
- Commitment to professional development and best practices in education.
- Ability to work collaboratively with faculty to enhance the whole‑school learning environment and community.
- Outstanding communication skills – both written and verbal.
- Commitment to meeting the needs of each child.
- Willingness to work hard and as part of a team for a common goal.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new platforms.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets).
- Ability to learn the student information system (Blackbaud).
This is a 10‑month, full‑time position during the academic school year (mid‑August through mid‑June). Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Benefits for full‑time employees include medical, dental, life insurance, paid time off, retirement, and partial tuition remission for staff children.
Education and Experience- AMI or AMS Montessori Toddler Teaching Credential.
- Minimum of one year of Montessori Lead Teaching experience.
Authorization to work in the United States is a pre‑condition of employment at Greenspring Montessori School.
