The Office of Admissions serves as the first point of contact between the Mount and prospective students and their families. Many students receive their first impression of the university through interaction with the admissions team. A student guide for the Office of Admissions will always represent Mount St. Mary's University in a positive and enthusiastic way to both visitors and the campus community.
The position will serve as an aid to prospective students as they conduct their college search whether it is sharing experiences as a Mount student, helping prospective students submit application materials, or following up about an event on campus. This position will report directly to the Associate Director of Admissions for Events.
- Understand and always be an outstanding reflection of the values of Mount St. Mary's University to Mount community members and campus visitors.
- Greet prospective students and families upon their arrival on campus.
- Conduct tours of main campus.
- Assist with professional outreach to prospective students in the form of writing post cards, and phone calls informing prospective students about upcoming campus events, scholarship opportunities and deadlines.
- Use office equipment (ex) photocopiers, fax machine, etc.
- Enter accurate data and assist in data clean-up projects, using the admissions CRM, Slate.
- Run campus errands.
- Must be a current, full-time student.
- Be a friendly and outgoing/team player.
- Have proper phone etiquette and computer literacy.
- Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
- Work flexible hours including select weekends and evenings.
- Ability to understand and present essential information about the college.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively while making a positive impression on prospective students and their parents.
- Attend a mandatory monthly staff meeting.
Hours:
- Students are paid the current minimum wage for Maryland.
- Students will work a total of eight (8) hours per week.
- We will work with schedules to ensure there are no conflicts with classes/sports.
