Terms:
11 Months, regularly 8.0 hours per day but workday may be greater based upon the needs of the system. Additionally, this position may move to 12 months in the future. This position requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed, to meet the needs of the school community (ie. wrap around services). Hours will be flexible to meet early morning and/or evening expectations as determined by needs assessment and each school.
Salary:
Certified Salary Scale- 8 Hour - Range: $63,168-$72,810 (Commensurate with education and experience)

Building Principal, Director of Student Services, and Director of Elementary Education

The Maryland Annotated Code 5-223 defines a community school as "a public school that identifies a set of strategic partnerships between the school and other community resources that promote student achievement, positive learning outcomes, and the well-being of students by providing wraparound services." The Community School Specialist, in partnership with school leadership and the community school steering committee, is responsible for the implementation, integration, alignment, marketing and coordination of school activities, events, programs and services that lead to increased student achievement, stronger families, and healthier neighborhoods.
Minimum RequirementsBachelor's Degree
Minimum of three years of experience working in an educational setting or experience in social work, or related human services field
Demonstration of skill and experience in data analysis and strategic planning
Demonstration of strong leadership, management, organization, communication, and human relations skills which includes the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
Demonstration of strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidential information and maintain documentation of parental engagement activities at the assigned school; along with the ability to interact successfully with diverse stakeholders (i.e., students, parents and families, school staff, school administration, community agencies, etc.)
Ability to work independently with minimum oversight and demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, and quality awareness.
Proven analytical and problem-solving skills;
Experience in working with parents and community agencies in providing services for students, preferred.
Effective time and project management skills.
Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and some weekends;
Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate events that foster family and community participation;
Must be comfortable with the use of data and presenting data to small and large groups;
Understands and respects the diversity of families' economic, linguistic and cultural backgrounds and situations while demonstrating a high degree of cultural awareness and competency in cross-cultural practice with stakeholders;
Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment with the ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience in providing professional development on related topics
Willingness to engage in professional development and to travel to meetings as well as training and conferences including those that are multiple consecutive days that require overnight accommodations. Proficiency in a variety of technology and applications, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and student information management systems. Ability to work on multiple and concurrent tasks while experiencing frequent interruptions History of professionalism and strong work ethic Ability to work independently and as a team member to meet intensive deadlines Ability to serve as a positive role model in the workplace and within the community Ability to stand, sit, walk, feel, climb, balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, bend, push, pull, and carry Ability to lift moderately heavy objects averaging 50-70 lbs.

Master's Degree in educational related field, social work, counseling, pupil personnel, psychology/sociology, administration and supervision, or a related human services field
Experience implementing programs at the school level and extensive knowledge of different types of program components and their compliance environment
Advanced understanding of the intricate workings of a public school system
Working knowledge of Board of Education's policies and school system's administrative procedures
