Clinical Skills Lab Manager
Manages the clinical skills practice labs including scheduling and resource management. Collaborates with other faculty members in the creation of learning experiences and in the provision of student instruction and evaluation in nursing skills. Also includes some responsibilities for providing didactic and clinical instruction and evaluation of students. This is an in person onsite part-time position.
Essential job functions include coordinating the scheduling of the clinical practice labs among nursing and Health Care Careers, supervising and assisting students in the practicing of nursing skills, acting as a resource person for students using the clinical labs during open practice hours, evaluating student performance in clinical test-outs, providing supplemental student support and supervision of clinical skills for students who are referred by faculty, collaborating with faculty members in the development of new simulated laboratory experiences for students, mentoring students in professional development by role modeling appropriate behavior and critical thinking, coordinating scheduling of students for test outs and workshops, inventorying, coordinating ordering, storage, cleaning, and maintenance of the hi-fidelity mannequins, coordinating the cleaning and maintenance of all supplies and equipment used in the assigned laboratories, collaborating with faculty members to identify supportive services, equipment and software needed for assigned labs and submitting requests to appropriate individuals, developing and revising, in collaboration with the appropriate faculty, policies and procedures related to the safe usage of equipment and lab space, attending all scheduled and special nursing faculty meetings and meetings of other groups to which assigned (division, committees, etc), keeping abreast of current, relevant clinical issues and teaching methods suitable to the clinical learning laboratory, evaluating student performance both formatively and summatively, submitting student and agency evaluations and other documentation as necessary when due, and active participation in the accreditation process as necessary.
Minimum requirements to perform work include a bachelor's degree in nursing, master's degree preferred, a minimum of five years working as a registered nurse, teaching and simulation experience preferred, and current unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or Multistate.
Knowledge, skills and abilities include knowledge of simulation equipment and function, former work with simulation and nursing technologies and instructional methodology.
Scheduling requirements include weekdays and some Saturdays and evenings. 20 hours per week.
Physical demands include ability to lift supplies and equipment. The physical activity of this position includes but is not limited to: climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting, and sitting.
Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe workplace practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations and traffic signals when driving.

Grade 112; salary will be $42/hr.
