Coordinator of Equity and Blueprint for Maryland's Future
Position Summary:
The Coordinator of Equity and the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future provides strategic leadership for advancing equity and implementing the Blueprint across the school system. The role leads the development, implementation, and monitoring of equity initiatives to ensure equitable access, opportunities, and outcomes for all students. It also serves as the Blueprint Implementation Coordinator, overseeing planning, alignment, compliance, and performance monitoring across all Blueprint initiatives.
Certification and Experience
- Master’s degree in Education (required)
- Administrator I endorsement (required)
- Five (5) years of successful experience in education, with both teaching and/or administration preferred
- Deep understanding of equity principles, culturally responsive practices, anti-bias education, and inclusive instructional strategies
- Knowledge of federal and state education laws and initiatives, including ESSA, IDEA, COMAR, and the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future
- Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to interpret disaggregated data to identify trends and disproportionality
- Ability to design and deliver high-quality professional learning aligned to adult learning theory and continuous improvement
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including tailoring messages for diverse audiences and serving as a public information liaison
- Strong project management and organizational skills, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines
- Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including families, community organizations, and government agencies
- Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and instructional frameworks, including Maryland College and Career Ready Standards and educator evaluation systems
- Demonstrated commitment to equity in all aspects of educational leadership, including recruitment, curriculum, access, and student outcomes
- Proficiency with technology platforms and data systems, including Microsoft Office and Google applications
- Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance
- Proven track record of accomplishing tasks similar to listed responsibilities
- Alternative qualifications acceptable if deemed appropriate by Calvert County Public Schools
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the school system’s equity policy, procedures, and strategic plan to ensure equitable outcomes for all students
- Facilitate professional learning on equity, anti-bias practices, cultural responsiveness, and inclusive education across the system
- Engage staff in using an equity lens to identify and address disproportionality in identification, placement, discipline, and access to services
- Analyze disaggregated student data to identify and address disproportionality and systemic inequities
- Build capacity across the district to eliminate systemic inequities impacting historically marginalized student groups
- Collaborate with departments to embed an equity lens in hiring, curriculum development, instructional practices, and access to advanced learning opportunities
- Engage families, students, and community stakeholders in meaningful partnerships to support equity and student success
- Serve as the school system’s Blueprint Implementation Coordinator, leading the planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation of all Blueprint initiatives
- Monitor and track progress across all Blueprint pillars, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and improved student outcomes
- Facilitate cross-departmental coordination to design, implement, and evaluate programs aligned with Blueprint requirements
- Develop, manage, and monitor Blueprint-related budgets, funding, and compliance requirements in collaboration with system leadership
- Prepare and present reports to internal and external stakeholders, including the Board of Education and state agencies
- Serve as a liaison between the school system, county government, MSDE, and other agencies on matters related to equity and Blueprint implementation
