Employ Prince George’s is expanding our Youth Career Connections programming under the Blueprint for Maryland’s Future. In partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools and Prince George’s Community College, we support middle and high school students as they explore career options, build readiness skills, and plan for life after graduation. Our work centers on access, opportunity, and helping young people connect their interests to high-demand career pathways.

Position

at a Glance

We’re seeking energetic, student-centered Career Coaches who enjoy working directly with youth and being embedded in school environments. This role is ideal for someone who builds strong relationships quickly, stays organized, and is motivated by helping students move from exploration to action. You’ll deliver hands‑on career exploration, collaborate closely with school staff, and play a key role in student outcomes across the county.

Scope

of Responsibilities
  • Deliver individualized and group career coaching services to middle and high school students.
  • Collaborate with counseling teams to align services and integrate career programming into the school day.
  • Guide students through career exploration, interest and aptitude assessments, and pathway planning.
  • Support students in identifying career pathways aligned with interests, strengths, and labor market demand.
  • Facilitate workshops, orientations, and presentations for students, families, and staff.
  • Engage parents and guardians in targeted career awareness activities.
  • Promote programs at job fairs, including hosting or supporting informational tables.
  • Coordinate guest speakers, business visits, job shadowing, and after‑school events.
  • Partner with community organizations to enhance student access to career readiness services.
  • Maintain regular contact with participants and track progress toward career goals.
  • Accurately document services, outcomes, and case notes in required systems.
  • Support summer career exploration initiatives and special events.
  • Ensure compliance with Blueprint for Maryland’s Future requirements.
Selection Criteria
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, preferred
  • Associate’s degree in Education, Business Management, Human Services, Human Resources, or related field; relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Two years of experience with youth in workforce development, education, or human services.
  • Strong coaching, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience delivering workshops and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data or case management systems.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Experience in K‑12 settings, preferred
