Kindergarten Teacher

Professional Position

This is a professional position to meet the instructional goals of the school and school system by delivering instructional programs effectively to ensure student achievement.

• Hold or be eligible for a Maryland educator certificate in the appropriate area. (Early Childhood Education Pre-K-3)
• Demonstrate knowledge of current instructional and curricular methodologies.
• Possess the ability to relate well with students, colleagues, parents and staff.

• Plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students.
• Supervises students in a variety of school settings.
• Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
• Communicates and interacts with students, parents, and community
• Develops, selects, and modifies instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students.
• Provides an atmosphere and environment so that each student will have the opportunity to develop intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally.
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Maintains appropriate records.
• Monitors and assists the student in the proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Participates in school and county workshops as directed.
• Integrates the use of computers to achieve curricular goals.
• Maintains regular, on-time attendance.
• Reacts to change productively and performs other duties as assigned.

HOURS:

This position is a 10 month position with a minimum of 37.5 hours per week. Caroline County Board of Education, Teacher Salary Scale. Placement on the appropriate salary lane/step will be based on knowledge, experience, skills and abilities related to this position.
