Under the direction of the Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts, the Summer Arts Academy Site Coordinator and instructor will plan and deliver summer‑camp learning experiences in the following areas:
- Art
- Dance
- Drama
- Music (Instrumental and Vocal)
The specific courses offered will depend on the instructor’s skill set and student interest.
Responsibilities include:
- Planning, organizing, and executing daily lessons and activities.
- Creating a supportive learning environment that fosters intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Supervising students during arrival, dismissal, instructional periods, summer reading, and performance.
- Assisting students in preparing a performance or artwork for the final Summer Arts Academy Performance & Art Show.
- Monitoring proper use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Teacher certification, with certification in an arts field preferred.
- Two years of teaching experience in arts‑related programs.
- Strong instructional and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan, organize, and execute daily lesson plans.
- Experience integrating technology with arts instruction preferred.
Position requires significant periods of standing and walking in a typical school environment.
Terms of EmploymentHourly rate: $42.00 per hour. Position availability contingent on student enrollment.
