Teacher, Science, Rocky Hill Middle School, 1.0 FTE (260041J)

Wage range: $64,591 - $131,472 based on education and experience. Benefits information:

Under the direction of the middle school principal, the teacher plans and provides appropriate learning experiences for adolescent students. Working with interdisciplinary teams, the teacher fosters a school culture that supports intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development and ensures success for every student. The teacher supervises students in a variety of settings, communicates and collaborates with students, staff, parents, and community, develops and differentiates instructional plans and materials, maintains records, follows required procedures, and uses data analysis to monitor student achievement.

The teacher monitors appropriate use and care of equipment, materials, and facilities.

Special Requirements:
Required to attend school meetings, programs and activities outside the instructional day as mandated by the MCEA agreement.

• Knowledge of adolescent development, content expertise, and MCPS curriculum and policies.

• Ability to use a variety of instructional and behavioral management strategies, including integration of reading, writing, math, and technology.

• Effective collaboration with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents, and community.

• Commitment to serving diverse populations (race, ethnicity, gender, developmental differences, learning styles, exceptionalities).
• Knowledge and application of MCPS Teacher Professional Growth System and SEIU Professional Growth System.

• Bachelor's degree in an applicable field of education from an accredited institution.
• State certification in the appropriate field of education, meeting Maryland requirements.
