Ecological Numerical Modeling Faculty Position
The Department of Natural Sciences at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore invites resumes for a twelve month, full-time, grant funded faculty position. Continuation of the position is subject to availability of funds. The start date for the position is January 2026.

Responsibilities:
- Work to develop a program in ecological numerical modeling.
- Conduct the ADCP, Wave and Water Quality observations in the Maryland Coastal Bays.
- Run the Finite Volume Coastal Ocean Modeling and Ce-Qual-ICM Water Quality Modeling.
- Co-supervise graduate students and undergraduate students.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Oceanography or Marine Sciences. ABD will be considered with an expected completion before appointment date.
- Experience in oceanography observational skill.
- Experience in ecological/water quality numerical modeling experiences.
Physical Demands:
- May require extended periods of standing, bending, stooping, sitting at desk.
- May require lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Requires communication with a variety of constituents externally and internally.
- Requires operation of a variety of office equipment.
Preferences:
- Experience in running numerical ocean model (FVCOM, CE QUAL-ICM).
- Experience of supervising undergraduate students.
