The Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality instruction in mathematics for grades 6-12, including foundational middle school math, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and Statistics. The teacher designs and implements instructional plans aligned with state and national mathematics standards, using data-driven and student-centered strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners. Instruction emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world applications, while fostering a growth mindset and a love for mathematics.
The teacher assesses student progress, maintains accurate records, and collaborates with colleagues to support continuous improvement in student achievement.

Salary Range: $45,695 - $93,587

Detailed Description –Duties & Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
- Establishes clear instructional goals aligned with school improvement plans and state/national mathematics standards;
- Plans, prepares, and delivers lessons in middle school math concepts, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus, statistics, and problem-solving;
- Differentiates instruction based on assessment data, student readiness levels, and learning styles;
- Integrates technology, manipulatives, and visual models to support conceptual understanding;
- Designs and administers formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning;
- Creates a classroom environment that promotes collaboration, logical reasoning, and persistence;
- Maintains accurate and complete student records in accordance with school policies;
- Provides timely, constructive feedback and communicates academic progress with students and families;
- Collaborates with colleagues to align curriculum, share resources, and develop interdisciplinary projects;
- Participates in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities;
- Keeps current with best practices in secondary mathematics instruction, assessment, and educational technology;
- Supports English Language Learners and students with disabilities through adapted instruction;
- Supervises and mentors paraprofessionals, student teachers, or volunteers as needed;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of secondary mathematics curriculum and instructional strategies;
- Ability to engage students with varied abilities, backgrounds, and learning styles;
- Experience with differentiated instruction and inquiry-based learning;
- Proficiency in using educational technology and math-related software;
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills;
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered teaching.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Certification Requirements:
Possess or be eligible for a Professional Teaching Certificate in Mathematics (Grades 6-12) issued by the relevant state or licensing authority.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
