Job Description Summary

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) seeks a full-time, twelve‑month, non‑tenure track faculty member to coordinate all pharmacy practice teaching laboratory/skills activities across the PharmD Program. The School of Pharmacy is dedicated to developing exemplary pharmacy professionals and scholars who are committed to patient‑centered care, lifelong learning, discovery, and service for diverse communities of the Delmarva Peninsula, the State of Maryland, and around the world.

Salary: $116,500 - $135,960

• Curriculum planning, mapping and assessment of laboratory/skills activities for the school’s newly designed integrated curriculum.
• Coordination of all practice laboratory/skills activities across the curriculum, including objective structured clinical examinations (OSCEs).
• Orientation of faculty, health professionals and students to the lab.
• Training of faculty, adjunct faculty, health professionals and residents/ fellows/ students to execute laboratory/skills activities.
• Preparation of the lab for skills‑based activities.
• Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory for all pharmacy practice lab activities.
• Collaborative scheduling of skills‑based activities with all faculty.
• Assisting faculty in developing and implementing meaningful practice/clinically based scenarios for simulation.
• Assisting faculty in the development of assessment tools used to assess entrustable professional activities.
• Providing feedback and evaluating student skills assessments in coordination with course instructors.
• Assisting in procuring and maintaining various pharmacy‑related software and equipment.
• Providing oversight to students for remediation of practice skills as requested by faculty.
• Cooperating and coordinating with others in team‑taught courses as agreed with the Department Chair.
• Maintaining a clinical practice site in their area of expertise.
• Developing independent and collaborative educational research in their area of expertise.
• Serving on school and university committees, participating in regional and/or national professional organizations, and engaging in other school and university activities such as admissions interviews and student advising.
• Performing other related duties as assigned by the Department Chair.

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
• Post‑doctorate residency training, academic fellowship, or at least three years of comparable clinical experience.

• Experience in providing direct patient care and teaching in both didactic and experiential settings.
• Strong pharmacy practice background, previous full‑time academic experience, and completion of American Pharmacist Association Certificate Training Programs in Immunization, Medical Therapy Management, and Patient‑Centered Diabetes Care.
