Position Summary

The Full-Time Open Rank Faculty and Program Coordinator for Accounting is a 10-month, campus-based, faculty academic program administrator ( APA ) position with responsibility for providing academic and operational leadership, management, and coordination for the Accounting degree program and associated faculty and budget in accordance with Stevenson University and the Brown School of Business and Leadership ( BSOBL ) policies and procedures.

The Program Coordinator serves as a member of the BSOBL Dean’s leadership team and shares responsibility for maintaining accreditation by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education ( IACBE )by fostering a culture of assessment; continuous quality improvement; and adherence to the IACBE Standards for data collection, analysis, and reporting. The Program Coordinator also fulfills all responsibilities of a fulltime faculty member, as defined in the Stevenson University Policies and in the Full-Time Faculty Job Description approved by the BSOBL faculty.

The teaching load requirement is three-quarters of the fulltime faculty teaching load. Rank and title are determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with education and experience. The Program Coordinator works as a member of the BSOBL team to support overall operations and initiatives as assigned.

Education/Experience

Doctorate degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred. Candidates with a master’s degree in accounting, MBA , or master’s degree in a related field along with professional certification such as CPA or CMA will be considered. Practical accounting experience in public accounting, business, non-profit, or government accounting, and prior college-level teaching experience are also strongly preferred.

• Demonstrated teaching ability in accounting.
• Ability to recruit, coach, manage, support, and develop faculty.
• Demonstrated student-centered approach to teaching and a commitment to student achievement, including experience with adult online learners.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to engage in curriculum development, planning, implementation, and assessment of student learning.
• Ability to use classroom and learning management technologies (e.g., Black Board).
• Ability to work collegially and collaboratively with diverse teams of faculty, staff, and other academic program administrators sharing time, ideas, equipment, resources, and space.
• Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles, and to practice inclusive pedagogies that enhance student engagement.
