The full pay range for this role is $22.69 to $47.74 per hour, and the good faith estimated starting pay for this position upon hire is $30.00 to $40.00 per hour depending on level. We generally base our salary decisions on factors including but not limited to, relevant work and leadership experience, education, demonstrated performance, internal equity, and in some cases, geographic location.
Scopeof Job
Under the direction of the Site Manager or designee, you will be responsible for the unsupervised maintenance, troubleshooting, major repair, installation, and commissioning of utility-scale renewable energy assets, including PV (Photovoltaics) and BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems). All positions require in-depth knowledge of safety procedures, technical documentation, and a commitment to operational excellence.
Required Training:
Each Renewable Energy Technician will attend mandatory four (3) week training and certification course at the start of their employment. The exact duration will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The training is in Albert Lea, MN, and travel, accommodation, and expenses will be provided.
This position is on-site in Kitzmiller, MD.
Responsibilities- Performs preventative maintenance on wind turbines, utility scale photovoltaic power plants and storage systems.
- Performs troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades/ revisions to a broad range of equipment in the renewable industry.
- Properly completes Job Safety Assessments, applies LOTOs by following LOTO plans & procedures, identifies & reports all safety hazards on jobsite and suggest improvements, and attends safety meetings.
- Participates in the 24hr/weekly “On Call” rotation & work outside business hours when needed.
- Attends safety and technical training required for this position.
- Administrative duties, such as documenting completed jobs, implementing supply orders. Complete daily work orders, time tracking and any other required paperwork for the specific project/assignment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Renewable Energy Technicians level 3 and higher may oversee and train lower-level Renewable Energy Technicians as outlined in the applicable qualification cards covering corrective and preventative maintenances. This position may, under certain situations, supervise site crew and any contractors to support the site(s).
Working Conditions100% of time is spent working in the renewable asset field. There is also marginal time spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of various Microsoft software/programs), phones, and general office equipment.
