Role Description The Energy Efficiency Client Intake Specialist is a full-time, hybrid role based in Laurel, MD, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role manages incoming client inquiries, gathers and verifies intake information, and schedules energy audits and related services in coordination with field and consulting teams. The specialist explains available energy efficiency programs, services, and incentives in clear, accessible language and ensures clients understand the process and next steps.
Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate client records, updating CRM and scheduling systems, tracking project status, and following up with clients and partners as needed. The role also supports continuous improvement by identifying common client questions, documenting feedback, and collaborating with colleagues to streamline intake workflows and enhance the client experience.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills for assessing client information, prioritizing requests, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with the Energy Industry and Energy concepts, including basic understanding of efficiency, HVAC, and building performance.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Energy Management principles, such as conservation strategies and utility usage considerations.
- Candidates should possess awareness of Power Generation and related energy systems sufficient to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a client-friendly manner.
- Experience with customer service, client intake, or administrative support in a professional setting, preferably in energy, construction, HVAC, or related fields.
- Proficiency with office software, CRM or scheduling tools, and accurate data entry practices.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple requests in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating in person in Laurel, MD and virtually with diverse team members.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in a

- $25/hour commensurate with experience
