** _Due to a pending retirement, Certain Teed Siding has an excellent career opportunity for a EHS Manager based at our plant in Williamsport, MD._*
* Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager leads environmental, health, safety, and emergency response programs for the Hagerstown/Williamsport, MD Certain Teed Siding Products Group site. The role supports a large, 24/7 unionized vinyl siding and accessories manufacturing operation with extrusion, packaging, warehousing, distribution, maintenance, engineering, quality, and contractor activities.

The EHS Manager is responsible for building a proactive safety culture; reducing injuries and process-related risk; maintaining compliance with OSHA/MOSH, EPA, MDE, local requirements, Saint-Gobain/Certain Teed standards, and site policies; and ensuring EHS systems are practical for frontline leaders and hourly employees. The role provides leadership for the annual EHS Plan, WCM H&S and Environment/Risk Prevention pillars, compliance calendars, training, audits, incident investigation, corrective actions, industrial hygiene, environmental permitting/recordkeeping, workers compensation coordination, emergency preparedness, and visitor/contractor safety.

This position must influence across departments and shifts, coach supervisors and managers, engage union employees and safety teams, and ensure risks are identified, communicated, corrected, and sustained through effective follow-up.

** Safety - Accident Prevention, Process Development, and Management:*
* + Serve as Hagerstown WCM Health & Safety Pillar Leader and drive site safety strategy across production, maintenance, warehouse/logistics, engineering, quality, and contractor work.

+ Own and sustain site safety programs, Pro Act/behavior-based safety, 4

ORMS, safe work procedures, safety committee cadence, and frontline safety engagement across all shifts.

+ Develop and maintain the Hagerstown compliance calendar, safety training matrix, certification tracking, audit schedule, and annual EHS Plan.

+ Serve as the plant contact and recordkeeper for OSHA/MOSH safety requirements and represent the site during internal, corporate, customer, insurance, and regulatory audits.

+ Lead incident response, injury/near-miss investigation, root cause analysis, corrective action closure, and communication of lessons learned.

+ Create, update, and verify Risk Assessments, JSAs, Work Instructions, Management of Change reviews, contractor safety controls, machine guarding reviews, LOTO/electrical safety expectations, and ergonomic risk reduction actions.

+ Address site-specific risks including equipment in motion, forklift/warehouse traffic, extrusion/process hazards, heat stress, smoke/air quality events, noise, dust/fumes, chemicals, slips/trips/falls, and visitor/tour safety.

Provide direct leadership and coaching to the Safety Coordinator and functional leadership to department safety owners and frontline leaders.

Required:

+ Bachelor's Degree - Business Management, Engineering, Health & Safety, Environmental Management

+ 5+ years of Environmental, Health & Safety Management in manufacturing, unionized, extrusion/plastics/building products, or a similar heavy industrial environment

+ 3-5 years of experience with regulatory compliance, incident reduction, training, audit, and frontline engagement

+ Environmental permitting/recordkeeping, SWPPP, SPCC, hazardous/universal waste, air/emissions-related requirements, DOT/environmental shipping, and regulatory reporting experience

+ Risk Assessment, JSA/JHA, Management of Change, LOTO, electrical safety, machine guarding, contractor safety, emergency response, and industrial hygiene knowledge
