Staff Electrical Engineer – Power & Control Systems (Contract)
Pay: $61.59 – $92.36/hr
Schedule: Hybrid (Onsite Mon‑Thu, Remote Fri)
We are seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join a high‑impact aerospace and defense engineering team supporting advanced subsea robotics, electromechanical systems, and mission‑critical U.S. Navy and Department of Defense programs. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on the design, development, and integration of complex electrical and control systems.
This position is ideal for a hands‑on engineering leader who thrives in innovative, fast‑paced environments and enjoys working on one‑of‑a‑kind systems that require both deep technical expertise and creative problem‑solving.
Key Responsibilities- Lead electrical and control system design for complex electromechanical and robotic systems
- Serve as technical lead for projects, guiding and mentoring engineering teams
- Develop system architectures from high‑level requirements with minimal supervision
- Design and integrate power distribution, embedded control systems, and signal interfaces
- Select and integrate COTS components and custom electrical solutions as needed
- Perform system‑level analysis including power, grounding, and EMI mitigation
- Participate in design reviews, testing, integration, and troubleshooting activities
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams
- Support documentation, engineering presentations, and technical communication
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in complex systems design
- Strong background in system integration, controls, and electromechanical design
- Experience with CAD/CAE tools (Altium, MATLAB, SPICE, Solid Works, etc.)
- Knowledge of power systems, embedded controls, and industrial communications
- U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain DoD security clearance required
- Subsea, marine, robotics, or defense systems experience
- Fiber optics, PCB design, motor drives, or control systems
- Familiarity with military/industrial standards (IEEE, IEC, MIL, etc.)

The base pay range listed reflects what we reasonably expect to offer for this role. Actual pay may vary based on location, experience, and performance.
