Position Overview
The MDTA is hiring an Electrical Project Engineer in the Office of Engineering and Construction under the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)/Electrical discipline. The incumbent will manage, plan, and design ITS and electrical work associated with transportation facilities, structures, and equipment across Maryland.
Location:
Baltimore, Maryland. Hybrid telework schedules may be available.
- Manage electrical studies.
- Serve as project manager for large capital ITS and Electrical Engineering projects.
- Coordinate and review design studies, reports, and drawings.
- Review construction documents such as as-built plans, RFIs, and submittals.
- Review Scope of Work of ITS/Electrical on-call tasks.
- Coordinate with utility companies for power, energy, and communication requirements.
- Coordinate with ITS/Electrical engineers and other MDTA stakeholders, attending project-related meetings.
- Prepare engineering cost estimates and man-hour estimates for ITS/Electrical tasks.
- Conduct field visits to facility locations with consultants/contractors.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Four years of professional engineering experience, with at least two (2) years involving design or management of Electrical or ITS engineering projects.
- Advantageous:
Masters degree in engineering or professional engineer registration in Maryland or comparable state. - Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license in Maryland and provide license class, number, and expiration date.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States under the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986.
