Duties, Responsibilities & Other

The Project Assistant supports the planning, coordination, and execution of projects by assisting Project Managers with task coordination, schedule tracking, and day‑to‑day project activities on data center and power generation projects. This role serves as a key organizational link between project teams, technical staff, and external partners to help keep projects on track.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate project tasks, schedules, and deliverables across disciplines and work streams in support of project execution.
  • Assist Project Managers with milestone tracking, task assignments, and follow‑up to ensure project progress and accountability.
  • Maintain project plans, trackers, and role assignments to support clear communication of responsibilities and status.
  • Facilitate coordination between internal teams, subconsultants, and clients, as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Support document routing, reviews, and coordination of technical deliverables across project disciplines.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with KCI project management procedures, documentation standards, and quality requirements.
  • Perform additional coordination and project support duties as assigned.

Specialized Skills Preferred:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting project coordination, scheduling, or execution in a professional services or engineering environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate tasks, track schedules, and support multi‑disciplinary project teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience coordinating projects within engineering, infrastructure, energy, transportation, or land development practices.
  • Familiarity with project plans, schedules, trackers, and deliverable workflows.
  • Experience using project management or collaboration tools (e.g., project trackers, shared work spaces).
  • Ability to proactively identify coordination issues and support timely resolution.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma is required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Pre‑employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
