Traffic Engineer

Dewberry is currently seeking a motivated
Traffic Engineer
in our
Owings Mills, MD office. This position offers tremendous potential for career advancement in a highly collaborative environment, while working on a broad range of project types for transportation clients such as MDOT SHA, MDTA and VDOT.

Projects will range from local community-focused safety and multimodal projects to large freeway improvement projects. Primary responsibilities will be performing traffic engineering design and analysis related to traffic signals, signing and pavement markings, lighting, work zone traffic control, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and traffic operational analyses. Experience in all of these disciplines is not required. Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of traffic engineering experience, including experience with MDOT SHA, MDTA, VDOT or similar clients.

Applicants must have strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in groups.

Responsibilities include design and analysis for various traffic related tasks as noted above, working in a team environment, and collaborating with roadway, structures, hydraulics, and environmental groups within our Transportation business unit. The Candidate may also prepare design and cost estimates, meet with clients, and assist in proposal development.

• BS in Civil Engineering or related
• EIT and/or PE preferred
• Minimum 2 years of experience in traffic engineering
• MDOT SHA, MDTA, VDOT and/or design-build experience preferred
• Micro Station and/or AutoCAD experience required
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

* The salary range for this position is $87,000 to $112,000*
