Position: ENGINEER OR SCIENTIST

Duties
  • You will be responsible for the overall management, execution, and success of the anti-rust tasking, including Corrosion Control Assistance Teams (CCAT) across Carderock.
  • You will direct the project's financial management, acquisition strategy, waterfront support, and technical rigor, ensuring all project goals are met on schedule and within budget.
  • You will direct the anti-rust effort, managing the team within C/613 and coordinating with all supporting branches to ensure seamless execution.
  • You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating all phases of the project, start to finish, including developing comprehensive action plans that detail tasks, justifications, funding, facilities, and milestone schedules.
  • You will be accountable for the project's strategic vision and the development of solutions for a variety of nonrecurring technology challenges.
  • You will represent the organization at meetings, brief higher-level management on project status, and serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders.
  • You will anticipate future trends and make critical decisions on trade-offs to select the best approach for accomplishing new requirements or resolving technical problems.
  • You will apply knowledge of corrosion control and coatings to guide the team's technical direction.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring the technical work meets the required standards, including the testing and evaluation of materials, the experimental development of new processes, and in-service engineering support.
  • You will ensure all work is properly documented, including the preparation of proposals, technical reports, and project reviews.
  • You will provide authoritative advice and expertise in corrosion control and coatings to program offices, contractors, and other government agencies.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the ND-04 (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate supporting Navy shipboard corrosion control, developing collaborations cross functionally, and managing a portfolio of Navy or Marine Corp corrosion control or coatings projects including supporting acquisition and contracting.

Education

Professional Engineering 08XX Series :
