Senior Lead Mechanical MEP Engineer – Baltimore Suburbs

$125K–$165K Base Salary + Excellent Benefits + Growth Opportunity

A highly respected MEP consulting engineering firm in the Baltimore suburbs is seeking a Senior Lead Mechanical MEP Engineer to join their growing team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned mechanical engineer who thrives in a leadership role and enjoys managing complex building systems projects from concept through construction.

We are looking for a hands‑on engineering leader with strong HVAC/mechanical design experience, project management ability, and the technical expertise to mentor junior staff while working directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead mechanical design for commercial, institutional, and government building projects
  • Participate in scope development, fee preparation, and pre‑proposal meetings
  • Prepare HVAC and mechanical infrastructure design solutions
  • Perform field surveys, energy audits, life cycle cost analyses, and energy modeling
  • Utilize Trane/Trace, Carrier/HAP, Revit/BIM, AutoCAD, and related engineering software
  • Review submittals, respond to RFIs, and support construction administration efforts
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables
  • Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal disciplines
Requirements:
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or related field
  • PE License required
  • 10+ years of MEP/mechanical building systems design experience
  • Strong HVAC and mechanical infrastructure background
  • Experience with Revit/BIM and industry‑standard load calculation software
  • Ability to manage projects and lead teams
  • Excellent communication and client‑facing skills
  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder
Preferred Qualifications:
  • LEED AP certification
  • Commissioning experience or certification
  • Experience working on government or secure facility projects
