Senior Test & Evaluation Lab Tech
Location:
Patuxent River, MD This role provides test and evaluation technician support in a lab or aircraft production environment. Responsibilities include fabricating and maintaining instrumentation systems, installing sensors such as strain gauges, accelerometers, thermocouples, RTDs, and pressure transducers, interpreting engineering drawings, preparing surfaces, wiring, electrical terminations, soldering, crimping, and troubleshooting circuits.
- Plan, conduct, and document complex tests on products, systems, and materials.
- Design, fabricate, build, and analyze test systems, materials, components, software, and methodologies.
- Coordinate test requirements, determine test methods and capabilities.
- Prepare systems for test by guiding integration, fabrication, modification, setup, checkout, and teardown.
- Perform test article configuration control.
- Conduct complex tests, analyze data, document results, and participate in test readiness reviews.
- Identify and resolve test anomalies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex laboratory and test-related problems.
- Coordinate test laboratory activities, maintenance, repairs, and personnel training.
- Assist government agencies, safety, and hazardous materials teams during emergencies.
- Coach and train others.
- Work under minimal direction.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; a final U.S. Secret Clearance post‑start is required.
- Associate’s degree or higher, a technical certificate or degree, or four or more years of equivalent technical experience.
- Experience fabricating, installing, routing, terminating, soldering, and repairing electrical wiring harnesses or components.
- Experience interpreting electrical engineering drawings, schematics, and definitions.
- Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (active within the last 24 months).
- Three or more years of strain‑gaging experience.
- Experience installing aircraft modifications, including fabricating and installing aircraft electrical system wiring, connectors, and avionics boxes.
- Experience with aerospace assembly and/or electrical fabrication.
- Experience leading a lab environment to ensure capability and readiness.
Summary pay range: $80,750–$109,250. The Total Rewards package includes base pay, variable compensation, health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off. Pay is based on experience, qualifications, and market considerations.
Relocation is available based on candidate eligibility. The position is for the first shift.
Additional RequirementsU.S. export control compliance is required. Relocation is offered. The company does not sponsor employment visa status. Applicants must be able to work for periods standing, kneeling, or using lift platforms. Personal protective equipment such as eye protection and hard‑toe shoes is required.
