What It Takes to Excel as a Plant Engineer (Requirements)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing plant engineering experience.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Experience with capital projects, equipment installations, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment, plant operations, and maintenance systems.
  • Experience using engineering design software and interpreting technical drawings.
  • Thorough understanding of process control systems.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with vendors, contractors, production teams, and leadership.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in office, manufacturing, and warehouse environments.
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours when necessary to support projects and plant operations.
  • Ability to lift to 75 pounds and work safely around industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
Drive Engineering Projects & Plant Performance (Job Duties)
  • Develop, design, and execute capital, maintenance, and expense projects from concept through completion.
  • Prepare project cost estimates, justifications, and business cases to support operational goals.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects simultaneously while meeting budget and timeline expectations.
  • Provide technical expertise for equipment upgrades, repairs, installations, and process improvements.
  • Schedule and oversee equipment and machinery inspections to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Partner with maintenance and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, plant safety, and product quality.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement process enhancements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain engineering procedures, standards, and documentation supporting operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with vendors, contractors, plant personnel, and corporate engineering teams to complete projects successfully.
  • Support employee development by helping ensure teams have the training and resources needed to succeed.
  • Provide leadership in project execution, problem-solving, and operational improvement efforts.
