Data Center Energy Marshal

We are seeking an experienced Energy Marshal (Owner's Representative) to support large-scale data center development projects. This role acts on behalf of the owner/developer to provide independent oversight, assurance, and coordination of all hazardous energy control (Lockout/Tagout – LOTO) and electrical safety activities across construction and commissioning phases.

Skills & Qualifications
  • 7 years of experience in electrical systems/power distribution (LV/MV/HV).
  • Strong expertise in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) programs and hazardous energy control.
  • Experience with electrical safety standards (NFPA 70E, OSHA).
  • Experience reviewing procedures, risk assessments, and high-risk work activities.
  • Prior experience in an Owner's Rep, Controlling Energy Marshal, or oversight role.
  • Data center development or operations experience.
  • Formal training/certifications such as NFPA 70E Electrical Safety, OSHA 10/30.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry.
  • Applicants must be able to work directly for Artech on W2.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Provide independent oversight of the Energy Isolation (LOTO) program across all project phases.
  • Coordinate and align energy isolation activities between General Contractors (GCs), subcontractors, commissioning teams, and owner operations teams.
  • Review contractor-developed MOPs, SOPs, and energy isolation procedures.
  • Conduct regular field audits of electrical and mechanical isolation activities.
  • Act as the primary owner-side point of contact for all high-risk electrical work activities.
  • Review and validate Hazardous Energy Risk Assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Collaborate with owner project management teams, data center operations, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS).
