The Reliability Systems Engineer will be required to interact with other OTECH personnel and the client to guide engineering efforts to meet the client's RAM (Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability) requirements. The Reliability Systems Engineer will provide guidance to engineering design and lifecycle support efforts through the development of RAM modelling, block diagrams, fault event trees, and statistical methods, and guide the supply support activities with RCCA (Root Cause Corrective Actions) analysis.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist the Lead RAM Systems Engineer to identify Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) shortfalls in system level analysis/design and subsystem level predictions as applicable
- Develop and integrate the analysis and data between the Failure Mode Causes, Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), RAM and Integrated Logistics Support Analysis (ILSA)
- Provide RAM and FMECA Risk data to support design and operations trade studies and analysis and the program risk plan
- Support fault event tree analysis and support the development of training and maintenance concepts, troubleshooting methods and maintenance manuals.
- Assist in preparing system, segment, element, and equipment R&M specifications from top-level requirements.
- Interface with system and element design engineers to identify R&M shortfalls in system level analysis/design and subsystem level predictions as applicable
- Perform reliability and maintainability predictions and allocations for equipment using RAM software-based tools under the guidance of the Lead RAM systems engineer
- Interpret statistical data derived from failure reporting programs and reliability demonstrations.
- Complete predictions and be able to discuss R&M areas of improvements with design engineers.
- Work closely with the Lead RAM Systems engineer and other engineering disciplines to verify reliability and availability requirements for systems though analyses such as, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and limited life item analysis for system, sub-system, functional (electrical/mechanical), component and device level.
- Work with the Lead RMA systems Engineering to provide quantitative reliability inputs to trade studies based on reliability theory, including the impacts of the selected technology, applied stresses, quality, redundancy, temperature, wear-out, and environmental impacts.
- Provide component failure rates, block diagrams etc. in support of Maintainability Engineering analyses, System Safety Hazard Analyses, and Logistics support for deriving Operational Availability (Ao) and range and depth of spares required for mission success.

Qualifications include:
- Minimum BS degree in Statistics/Mathematics, Reliability, Electrical, Computer, Mechanical, Systems Engineering,
- Minimum 5+ years of practical experience in an engineering environment
- Experience with:
- Using FMECA and RAM analysis to guide the engineering design process and contribute to lifecycle support concepts.
- Contributing to the development of sections of systems engineering documentation, including system engineering management plans, requirements specifications, verification and test requirements, interface control documents, and integrated logistics data records
- Developing system requirements and derived requirements. assisting with the development of system requirements, functional requirements, and allocation of the same to individual hardware, software, facility, and personnel components
- Management of the requirements for reliability, availability, and maintenance and sparing
- Candidate will have to perform in an ISO-9000 rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere.
