As an Expert Aerospace Quality Engineer, you will lead the implementation of new product introduction following quality systems and new product introduction practices in the transparency manufacturing aerospace environment. Investigating detailed production control problems in major processes, methods, standards, specifications, inspection, and testing equipment to provide value to new product launch.
You will sit onsite in our Sylmar, CA facility. You will report to the Senior Site Quality Manager.
Responsibilities- Guide the implementation and closure of all NPI-related changes.
- Partner with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify solutions that reduce issues during NPI and product transitions.
- Lead APQP/AS9145 activities by collaborating with development teams to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability and assembly.
- Manage the structured transfer of design documents and technical information between Engineering and Operations.
- Analyze complex process issues by reviewing data, applying engineering and operational standards, and developing corrective solutions.
- Investigate internal and customer-reported quality issues, leading teams through structured problem-solving to prevent recurrence.
- Implement proactive quality methodologies that shift us from reactive problem‑solving to preventive quality practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment as a Manufacturing Engineer / Quality Engineer / Industrial Engineer.
- Demonstrated skills in project planning tools (Gantt, Kanban) and visual management systems.
- User of Microsoft 365 Tools (Excel, Teams, Copilot, Project, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Use visual management tools (dashboards, Kanban, and other tools) for team communication and accountability.
- Advanced experience with AQMS/APQP/AS9145 desired including PFMEA, Control Plan and Measurement System Analysis.
- Advanced skills in Excel / Power BI and similar data analytic tools.

- Ability to obtain security clearance.
- We prefer certification in Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA).
- We prefer Six Sigma Black belt certification.
The base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $148,000, with a possibility of an annual bonus up to 10% of base salary.
