Principal Systems Engineer to work in Fulton, MD. Serve as a technical lead and systems engineer on challenging software development projects such as the Common Aviation Command and Control System (CAC2S) or the Battlespace Command and Control Center (BC3). Be engaged with exciting and innovative advancements in Multi‑Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies. Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks including system requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V).

Serve as Technical Leader of medium to large engineering development teams. Act as systems engineering discipline subject matter expert for the department, mentoring other engineers and solving critical technical problems with innovative solutions. Travel to customer sites as needed.

• Serve as technical lead and systems engineer on software development projects (CAC2S, BC3).
• Engage in multi‑sensor and information fusion, networked situational awareness, and visualization technologies.
• Perform full life cycle systems engineering tasks: requirements analysis, definition, architecture design, trade studies, integration, verification and validation (IV&V).
• Lead medium to large engineering development teams.
• Provide subject matter expertise in systems engineering, mentor engineers, and solve complex technical problems.
• Travel to customer sites as required.

• Professional experience with design and requirements derivation for software; coaching and mentoring experience.
• Typically requires a STEM degree with minimum 8 years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with minimum 5 years of experience.
• U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. Existing Secret clearance required after day 1.
• Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect, and Cameo.
• Experience with configuration and test of cloud‑based software deployments.
• Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) techniques and applying them as a Cost Account Manager (CAM).

• Experience with Link 16 Tactical Data Link (J series messages), VMF (K series messages), Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems.
• Understanding and application of systems engineering standards (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, Mil‑Std‑499B).
