Location: Patuxent River
Duties
* You will provide technical oversight and guidance to the Air Vehicle Engineering (AVE) Aeromechanics Division.
* You will develop and institute technical policy, serve as an advocate for the application of rigorous technical processes to meet Command goals, solve technical problems that span multiple level competencies.
* You will provide technical consultation, advice, training and lessons learned to Aeromechanics Division personnel, coordinating and providing technical expertise, experience, and guidance related to aeromechanics, and flight clearances.
* You will perform engineering studies and investigations on technical problems and issues of interest to the Air Vehicle Engineering Department and the Air Systems Group.
* You will serve on technical panels and committees formed within the government or combined with industry and/or academia to perform studies of both broad areas and specific topics.
* You will serve as technical representative on special teams to investigate and solve problems on specific aircrafts that are encountered during design, development, test, and fleet service. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
* You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
* MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
* This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition
Functional Area
and category assigned to the position is required within established category time frames.
* Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
* This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13) grade level or (DP-04) pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
Specialized experience includes:
1) Demonstrating senior level knowledge and experience pertaining to Aeromechanics (Flight Vehicle Performance, Flight Dynamics, Flight Controls, Store Separation, Aerodynamics and Modeling and Simulation);
2) Serving as technical authority in Aeromechanics engineering airworthiness criteria and design standards for aviation assets;
3) Utilizing engineering practices and principals related to Aeromechanics engineering, including design standards and test and evaluation techniques.
4) Leading teams, presenting complex engineering concepts to leadership, and partnering across organizations to provide technology and acquisition solutions.
